Roxelane Cakir - HETWA CEO and President - took part in a European Interreg SUDO project (Aguamod) proposing the evaluation of ecosystem services throughout south-western Europe. In this article, they propose a method for economically evaluating the water quality regulation service of nitrate removal and dilution. The concept of costs avoided by natural decontamination upstream of human action is presented in this article.
